Soundair was set up as an aircraft chartering company specialising in Concorde Flights to major sporting events particularly The Open, The US Open and the Ryder Cup arranging for the players, officials and press to travel supersonically.
Securing high profile sponsor funding from Sports Illustrated, American Express, Pepsi Cola and ABC Television, Soundair chartered Concorde 30 times including the first Manchester to New York flight following The Open at Royal Birkdale.
