The Wasp in Surrey, a drinking man’s establishment, has a popular golf society and plans a trip to Northern France with dreams of cheap drinks, friendly women, great golf courses and riotous times.
But the trip exposes shocking differences between the image and real make up of our society’s protagonists.
Meanwhile at The Wasp, the barman, a devotee of self-help business books, is desperate to maintain the weeks’ takings.
And so it is the wives and girlfriends that have the riot back at the village local as the weekend produces divorce, golf course romance and a new media stock market killing.
